Ejaculation affecting PSA Blood tests

A new study reports that ejaculation within 5 hours of a PSA blood test may increase the value slightly. Normally this would not affect the clinic decisions, but someone on borderline active surveillance may be swayed to go for intervention. This study suggests it would be better to be sexually abstinent on the morning of a blood test. The discussion around sport, cycling and PSA has been discussed elsewhere.
